Team Background

Hampton High has a History of excellence in Hockey. The community supports the Team with large crowds every Thursday night as well as financially providing a strong corporate base to fund the season.

Provincially Hampton has been victorious in numerous tournaments and has won tournaments in Nova Scotia and Montreal. They have represented the Southern Conference in Provincial play-offs 11 of the past twelve years. During the 2003-04 season they lost in the Provincial 'AAA' Hockey Finals.

Otehr note-worth accomplishments have been a twenty game undefeated beginning to the season in 1997-98 and a perfect 18-0 recored in the regular season whenthey won the South-East Conference League Championship in 2001-02.  

 

 Hockey Today

 

Present Year Hampton started the year winning the St. Stephen Tournament whe  they defeated St. Stephen 1-0 in the semi-final and then defeated Riverview 1-0 in the final. Anthony Leblanc was the MVP of the tournament. They also participated inthe Can-Am tournament in Lake Placd N.Y . While they did not win the tournament they played very well and enjoyed the experienc.

Hampton ended the Southern Conference with 13 wins 8 losses and two ties for fourth place. They are presentl in a best of three quarter final with Sussex High winning game one  5-1 FEb 21st. 

The Hampton High Boys Hockey Team defeated SJHS 3 game to 1 in the League Southern Conference Semi-final. THe scores of the games were.Game 1...5-4 for Hampton, Game 2 was a 5-3 loss to SJHS  Game 3 a 5-3 win and the final game was a 7-6 double overtime victory.
Although Hampton is hosting the 'AAA' Provincial Hockey Champy  Championships which guarantees them a berth they have now won the opportunity to play Leo Hayes in a best of five Regional Provincial Championship.
 
Hampton lost 3-1 to Leo Hayes in the opening game of their best of 5 Regional Championship Thursday March 13 in Fredericton. Game two is Tuesday march 18th with a game time of 8 p.m.

The Hampton High Boys Hockey Team were honored to be named in June to host the Provincial 'AAA" Hockey Championships.

The Tournament is held over four days; March 27,28,29 and 30.

Games for the first three days are at 5 and 8 while the game on Sunday March 30 is at 1 p.m.

Hampton is automatically in as the tournament Host while 4 of the other 5 positions will be determined by reginal play-downs during the early part of March. One wild card team will be chosen from the teams that are defeated in the regionals.

Hamptons first game is March 27th at 8 p.m. Prior to this ganme are the opening ceremonies and the puck drop.

Hosting a Tournament of this size is certainly a coup for the school and the community.
