Boys Rugby

The HHS boy's rugby program was established in 1993. Each year the school participates in the southern AAA division with six other schools played in a round robin schedule. Annually, the teams compete in the Rothesay Netherwood Rugby Fest Tournament with competition from around the country. With the increasing enrolment of players, HHS has developed a junior team for students in grades 9 and 10. This team competes in exhibition games throughout the province and will be hosting It's annual Junior Varsity tournament in May. This year the JV team will also be traveling to Southern Ontario to attend The Red Hot Rugby tournament, North Americas largest high school rugby event. After embarking on a very successful season in 2008, with the third season for the junior varsity team and the senior boys advancing to Provincial Semi Finals, the 2009 season is in much anticipation.

Girls Rugby

Hampton High girls rugby team is one of the founding teams in provincal girls rugby. Practices will begin March 10th, every Tuesday - Thursday 5-7 PM. In April -- Tuesday April 7th and 14th only 5-7 PM, hopefully outside from there. Students should listen for annoucements or contact Mr. Chapman for more information on practice times. The team will play in the RCS-Netherwood tournament the end of April with regular season play beginning immediately after this through the month of May.  The team will play twice a week and practice at least twice a week. Anyone who is interested in playing on the team is welcomed to come out and try out for one of the fastest growing female sports!!!
