Classroom Expectations:

Respect the classroom environment (individuals and materials).

Food and drink (with the exception of water) are not allowed in the classroom.

Be on time, ready to work, with all required materials.

All assignments will be completed. If you choose not to complete an assignment at your convenience, you will complete it at my convenience.

Participate in classroom and small group discussions. Your thoughts and opinions are important and everyone has something to contribute.

If you fall behind or do not understand, please advise me as soon as possible so we can remedy the situation.

Please use the washroom at break time and not during class time.

Course Content:

Students will be continuing to learn to communicate in French by working on different units from a program called, Ca Marche! Each unit in this program focuses on a different theme. Students will complete worksheets, watch video clips, listen to audio clips and work individually as well as in groups. The unit culminates in an experiential goal or final task.

Students will also have a vocabulary quiz each week focusing on words contained within the unit. There will also be a number of individual and group presentations

Course Description:

The ability to communicate in both of Canada’s official languages is a skill which is very important in our country and more particularly in our province. This course will focus on improving the student’s ability to verbally communicate in French. It will also equip them with strategies in order to pick out key words and phrases in conversations, videos and audios, in order to be able to better understand the meaning of these different methods of communication.
